I have a 6 inch 44V. With the rear sight all the way down it still shoots high. I purchased a Millet rear sight and put on it. It shoots even higher with the Millet rear sight, but I do have to say I really like the Millet rear sight. Anyway, does anybody know where I can purchase a front sight that is taller than the standard red/orange insert I currently have?

There are also Millet front sights that are much taller, but I do not think they are new manufacture items. They show up on ebay sometimes, they usually have the rearward facing ramp colored in white or red.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Different weight bullets will affect POA (point of aim) generally heavier bullets
hit higher but just a diiferent brand may change of POA. Here are some
questions you need to answer:
1. At what distance are you getting these groups.
2. What is the highth measurement of front sight ? a taller sight will
help with your problem.
3. How are you holding sight picture ? Most gun maufactures set up guns
using #1

I am shooting at 25 yards. I am using sight picture number one. My front sight measures 1/4 inch tall. With the factory rear sight it was 2 to 4 inches high. With the millet rear sight it is 10 to 12 inches high. I did not measure how high it is hitting that is just how it looks. I know that millet makes a taller front sight, but they are no longer manufacured. I was hoping someone here knew where there was old stock available. As for pictures, I have never posted pictures before. Just haven't taken the time to learn how.

It's nice to hear that my 44V is not the only one shooting high. EWK is a great suggestion. I was looking at his new fiberoptic front blades, but the website does not list the height. I am about to the point where I am going to take a piece of mild steel and make one myself.

I have a 41 mag that produces the same result and am also still searching for that taller frnt sight. Maybe EWK?
This is actually a pretty good option. I'd bet that since he is already cutting the base that fits into the shroud slot, it might be pretty straightforward to produce some Patridge sights in a variety of heights, maybe an assortment of 3-4 heights in a set.
I have found that the Millet rear sights did tend shift POI high when I installed them on Small Frame DW's as well.
