Hello , I am brand new here on the Dan Wesson forum. Didn't know it was here before today when I started looking.

What brought me here was desire for information about a Dan Wesson 22 that I have. It is a Silhouette model , single action only , and has the ram logo on end of barrel shroud. Has a 3-digit serial number B0006xx. Condition is excellent , only blue wear is where cylinder yoke opens. It came with Hogue mono-grip rubber grips.

I am hoping someone on this fine forum could enlighten me as to how much it is worth. I used it shooting IHMSA silhouettes some time back , my last match was in 1996 , it has been in the safe ever since. Would now like to pass it on to someone who has real desire for one to either collect or shoot. I don't forsee me using it again , these days I shoot Cowboy Action. Eyes aren't good enough for silhouettes , haven't been since 1996 , and I didn't want to go to scopes.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks , Robert

Market value varies, but I'm sure one of us right here will buy it from you.  I'd be interested, but funds are low right now.

Welcome to the forums!

DW 22 are generally good sellers on gunbroker usually, selling for a premuim over the more common 15-2, given all things equal. I would certainly add a premium for the IHMSA model above even that. Pictures help with other considerations.  All this is said given that I certainly am no expert.

Lets say a 15-2 is $275 - $400 (shooter condidtion)

add $50- $100 for 22

add $xx for better condition

add $50 for Stainless

add $xx for extras (case, box, papers, extra BA's)

Add $xx for IHMSA not sure what that figure is, its not always big

Hey if nothing else we woud love for you to contribute to the Serial number registry.

PS: Money is tight for me as well, but if you post a pic, I might can bid some price, or I could make you a trade on a NICE 15-2 I got.

Thanks for your help , and I will try to post some pictures tomorrow. I do have the barrel nut tool and feeler gauge , plus the styrofoam box. It is not pristine anymore , been moved a bunch of times.

Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

Nice looking loooong barrel 22!

Now, comes the nitty-gritty part. How much can you make versus how quickly you can make it. For some reason I didnt figure on it being a 10" gun...

So if someone wants:

a DW revolver

in 22

with 10" barrel

and realize the rarity of the IHMSA stamp

then your gold, because its soo specific. I would think that someone that wants that, and appreciates that would pay over $500 so $500 to under $600.

However, if they just want a 22 revolver, then that 10" may work against you and the stamp wont add much ( I have seen that occur).  So for a "quick sell", I would drop that to $375.  Sounds harsh, but on the good side, its more than what a stock 15-2 would go for ( bottom end).

I also like to think about the time of year (just be fore Christmas)... works against us guys and any extra spending money.

As for me, I would love to have it as a 22 for my 13yo son to shoot. But that 10" barrel would be a handfull for him, so that puts me looking for a more standard length BA. I would also love to own an IHMSA gun of any kind, but thats because I am jealous of SHOOT and JODY. ( LOL) I also got creamed for a new Central AC and have Christmas staring me in slap in the face.. soo. I can see doing $400... but someone here might be willing to part with more for such a neat gun.
