Hi,
Going to look at this tomorrow,
I have it on hold. I was wondering if there's anything Special I should look for other than 1.) A tight lock-up 2.) Make sure the frame strap isn't burnt too much above the forcing cone. 3.) The barrel nut comes off without a problem. 4.) that the barrel threads in the frame are in good shape.
Anything else?
thanks ahead of time

I think you pretty much covered some of the main stuff - I'd pay close attention to the overall fit and finish of the gun. Does everything look square and symmetrical? You won't be able to check the bore alignment without a gauge but I would make sure the cylinder turns freely and check the gap between the forcing cone and cylinder face for squareness as you turn the cylinder.

Good luck and here is a link that may help. Let us know how you do.

Since it is a 375 SM, you probably won't find an abused gun. the 357 SM's were used much more heavily in the silhouette game because of the popularity of the cartridge and factory offerings. My experience with used 375's is that they may have been fired for one or two boxes of ammo, then put away. Just for what its worth.

That is a pretty substantial $$$, but .375 SM does not come along so very often. If the function checks out and you can either get ammunition or reload for it, do it.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

If your buying it to put on a satin pillow in your safe, go for it. But I would check around on brass, bullet's and reloading dies for this caliber if you are going to shoot it before purchasing it. If you don't plan on reloading, Pass on it. Because in the long run you will spend a lot more on it than just the price they are asking. And there are plenty of other nice DW's out there in more common readily available calibers.

Hello,
Thanks to everyone for giving great advice. I did get it. Got them to knock 100.00
off. Barrel nut had some marks, a couple real small nicks, but everything else was
great shape. I used one of Eric's wrenches on it, came apart easy. Only problem is
Wheeling WV is on the other side of state line so I have to have it sent to my FFL.
I'll post some pic's when it's in my hands.
Again thank you everyone

Nice gun. Bullets are available, I use the Sierra, get them online. Brass can be cut down as rwsem said. Dies are out there too. I think RCBS will make you a set for about $100+/-.
Have fun, they are great shooters.
