I have a Dan Wesson Model 11 made in Monson, MA. in .357 CTG.

Looking to identify the year of mfg.

The serial # is 4 #'s starting with 13.

What is it worth? It has a silver finish.

Any other info. would be greatly appreciated

looks to be nickle to me not sure if factory or not, maybe not factory as trigger and hammer done!   These were called ugly nut due to the exposed nut. Value depends on who wants one!   If you came into it at a less than 400 price feel good.  These were the earlies made in the Dan Wesson years before the 14's and 14-2's!  Where is the serial number located?    I would think under crain!    the grips are a lot later though the gripers are sought after!

Others will be along to help out soon!

Thank you Dave for the info.

Serial# was under the crane.

Not sure what to do with it. It was my father's. I just found it.(he passed away in 1/2010) The problem is where I live. He didn't have a permit for it so it's viewed as a "nuisance gun". I can't put it under my permit unless the Pistol License Bureau of the county PD can trace it back to a legal owner. Otherwise it would be destroyed. The same for a Colt 45 I also found.

That isn't a good thing!   I guess bury it back where it was found for your kids to find, better than losing it!   Can it be taken to a dealer for sale or trade?   these are early 1970's in the Dan Wesson line!   Hey just send it this way until you move!

Thanks again Dave.

I have relatives in Florida that could take them for me. I just have to find out how to ship them to them legally.

Firstly, welcome to DWF from the Bluegrass. Secondly, if the FFL's can't transfer it, I say take a drive.. It needs to be cleaned but that is too nice a firearm to just be destroyed..

Chris- a big part of this is the state that the gun currently resides in. For example, my home state (CT) does not care where the gun came from, as long as it is not a CT Assault Weapon. If it is in my hands, regardless of the origin, I can send/transfer it out to anyone legally eligible to receive it under THEIR State laws

I have several guns that came into CT many years ago that were "off the books" until I transferred them out legally through an FFL.

If you want to discuss this in more detail, PM me

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I would put it and the Colt in a large threaded PVC pipe with a cap on each end. Fill it with automatic transmission fluid or motor oil and bury it in the yard. If sanity prevails you can dig it up and if unsanity gets worse you can did it up too. Bury ammo next too it.

I would love to buy them both. If you wish, I'd sell them back to you when you can own them again. I'm always looking to increase my DW and Colt collections.
