Hello all I am having an issue with my Model 12. When I pull the trigger, the arm that comes into contact with the cylinder will not rotate the cylinder.
The issue I believe is with a large spring that rests in the groove of the arm that moves the cylinder.
Anyone know where I can find a replacement spring, mine seems way too short–or it broke! I looked on EWK arms but I cannot tell if this is their "hand" spring or not.

Oh — Okay, finally figured out the exact issue. Turns out the hand spring had broken its little arm that rests on the groove of the arm that moves the cylinder.
I was thinking it was the larger spring that rests in that groove. I finally found a picture of exposed internals that showed enough detail.
I have another noob question — how do I find the serial number of this gun, all I can see is the number 3 printed on the area where the hammer's spring/grip screw goes.

This depends on whether your gun is a "12" or a "W12".
From what I've seen thus far, a "12" is probably wearing a 2-digit (or fewer) serial number on the grip tang, like so…
If yours has a "3" stamped there & nothing else, then…WOAH!! You are my new stalker focal point…woops…I mean …the recipient of my "you lucky bugger" title!
If it's a "W12", it will most likely be wearing it's s/n (serial number) on the frame, under the crane, although probably a 3-digit to low 4-digit number.
These seem to have been hand stamped, and were many times stamped lightly & may require good lighting to see clearly…
Regarding the spring in question. The early DW's did have mildly different internals than the later ones (15-1 & 15-2). From my observance, the early DW's were a bit more delicate in their inner-workings (the action, with springs included), than later models. For me, that's part of the intrigue with these old boys.
Got any ??

That may very well be the first time the word "Delicate" and Dan Wesson were used in the same sentence ...

WheelGun, thanks for the you have a good looking Pistol Pac. The "3" stamped on your grip tang is interesting. I think I have a pic of another W12 (an auction pic) with a "4" stamped on the right side, similar to yours. No idea why that is. It looks like my pic host site is having difficulties this morning, so I can't get into my pic stash just yet to verify.
Hossman, is your number for sure only two digits? Because the digits were hand punched, periodically one of the digits had been stamped with a lighter strike than the rest. One of my 4-digit guns is this way, I almost need a magnifying glass to make out one digit. Also, it would be odd for DW to start over with single or double digits, after they switched to stamping the numbers under the crane latch. Not saying that it's impossible, but it would be odd for sure.
