Just got a new Nikon so I thought I would play around with it. Here is a pic of one of the two model 15-2s I have with the 2.5" barrel attached. I really enjoy this combo, it is good on cans out to 40 to 50 yards with 3.5 grains of Bullseye topped off with a #2 alloy LSWC. http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/ii117/palo2219/dw15-3-1.jpghttp://i262.photobucket.com/albums/ii117/palo2219/dwessonsnub2-1.jpghttp://i262.photobucket.com/albums/ii117/palo2219/dwessonsnub2-1.jpg

Looks like the Hogue grip pretty much like mine:
This one has the DW front Fiber Optic sight.
.357 snubbie is such fun to shoot, everyone at the range wants to give it a run.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Charger Fan, that must be tough, having more than one barrel and not having a barrel wrench that works! Kinda like having a warm six pack and no fridge!
The sight is a brass cut'n'polish job that I did about 16 or 17 years ago. Seems to work great in this scenario. I would like to get the fiber optic front soon, only wish they had optics in the rear blade somehow. I have had the 6 and 8 inch barrels forever, the 2.5 is something new to me and at the top of my favorite list for now.
Dusty has it pegged, this is a Monson frame with a new 2.5 HV from CZ DW. Plan to burn through a couple of boxes today. The SWC's are 158 grain, I failed to complete
that load data.
Sorry about the crappy photo, macro either not as good as I hoped or I just need to get out the tripod!

That's ok, I seem to have about the same luck with mine. Sometimes it works great & other times it just hates me.
I like your home made sight, I might have to try that myself. That's looks easier to me than whittling a grip from a block of wood...and having it actually fit.
My barrel wrench was pretty nicely rounded off when I bought it along with a couple nuts, so I haven't wanted to mess with them. It's my own fault for not calling CZ & getting replacements.
So far I've been happy shooting it with the 8" barrel that was on it when I got it, but I do want to try the others soon.

These snubbies are fun, I just set up my Monson 15-2 with a new CZ 2.5 barrel with yellow insert sight blade and monogrips from Houge also. Last time at the range we shot a box of full house .357 mags, too much fun, although I'm not sure how much the other shooters appreciated it. The muzzle blast is great. For serious combat/defense shooting 125 grain +P 38's work well.

I don't care for the ramp sights, just too much glare. As far as custom grips, I tend to agree, way too much whittling. I refinished my target grip after bug spray destroyed the gloss, that was enough for me. I will say that my 2nd choice after patridge is a yellow insert. The narrow .80" rear notch along with the .100" front patridge blade is just too small for the snub. The Admiral is trying to talk me out of shooting today, she wants me to sharpen the mower blades and dig out the leaf sweeper, guess what?

Are these factory loads? You gotta love these with a DW snub. I load 14 grains of 2400 with a 158 Gr JRN or JHP for the magnum rounds. Does anyone load higher than this with 2400 for the Model 15 with a 158? My reload specs are pretty old.
The Houge grips seem to be more forgiving than my combat or service grip are. (still haven't made it to the range today).

I'm only shooting factory loads in mine. The CZ barrel came with a white insert but it was too low for correct sight adjustments. I would like to try the fiber optic blade but not sure of the size. Anyony know how the fiber optic blade compares to the full height ramped blades?

palo-
When I bought mine it wasn't a white insert, but a white dot on a blade with a "reverse" cut. My son bough one with a different style front sight, so I suggest a call to DW/CZ to clarify.
savoy-
The fiber optic is a lower height than a traditional DW front sight, however it was within adjustment range of the factory rear sight.

Full house mags from a snubbie - OH YEAH! That'll get their attention in the next booth...I agree on the .38 Spcl +P in JHP for defensive.

I got my 2.5 for just last December and this is exactly the same sight and experience I had. They ship the assembly with a low profile white insert now it seems. Why, I don't know, shorter fronts are for longer distances. I know it is the low profile because I have a white insert that is considerably taller (have not mic'ed it yet). It also matches the height of my other colored inserts. Go figure, a call to DW may well be in order, especially if you can't crank down the rear blade far enough to get point of aim. The brass patridge I show above gives plenty of adjustment both up and down with the point of aim currently set at 45 yards. They still offer the patridge sights in .125" widths and different heights I believe. Correct me if I'm wrong. The fiber optic looks like a good way to go since Steve CT says it is within adjustable range for all uses.
I am curious what our friend Missionary 5155 recieved for a sight with his snub-kit!
