I have a chance to buy a VERY clean Model 15-2. 4" barrel no underlug and solid rib, target rear sight, original styrofoam box with sleeve with paper work and barrel tool plus feeler gauge (no hex key though). Supposedly new old stock and unfired with barely visible turn ring.
Is $775 over the moon in terms of price? I know it's not a great deal for me, but I've been looking for a very clean 15-2 for a while.
Thanks for your thoughts!
P.S. My first Dan Wesson is a 744-VH6. I hope I don't have that disease you all talk about but fear it's too late for quarantine!

Sounds a little high TinMan, but I have seen them go much higher so ultimately value is in the purchasers eye. Any turn ring indicates it has been fired or dry fired quite a bit. Tools can be replaced... Always nice to have the original, tho' for sure. I would look for burning on the top strap, cylinder and barrel forcing cone. Would also look for ratchet marks on frame behind the cylinder on what I call the blast plate.
If it is possible to do, that is. Maybe, you can get pictures of these areas if can't lay hands on. Good Luck, in your decision brother. BTW, has probably already taken hold. Sounds like you already have a slight fever...lolol

I'd say it's a bit high, but also consider what a comparable firearm will cost. I'd have to respectfully disagree with "Any turn ring indicates it has been fired or dry fired quite a bit." A "barely visible turn ring" can be established just from test and fire from the factory - I see it all the time.
