DW Guys,

I just purchased a used model 15 with a non-ribbed 6" barrel and would like to monut a scope for deer hunting.  What are my options?  I'd rather not drill and tap if possible.  The gun did not come with a barrel wrench.  Please fill me in.

Thanks,

With a non-rib shroud to my knowledge your only option is a drill and tap.  My favorite low profile mount is the Weigand style mount.

SMF pretty much nailed it, the only other choice would be some type of custom drill and tap of a set of rings directly on the top of the shroud.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Or you could change the barrel shoud to a vent rib.

SMF & SteveCT,

Thanks for the info, guys.  You have a great site here - Lots of info for someone new to Dan Wesson firearms.  DWs have a reputation for accuracy, and that's why I bought the model 15.  I'll put some picture up soon.

Thanks again,

Roger

Well Roger, we've all abandoned our manners, so let me be the first to say Welcome to the DWF Sign.

You're going to love your Dan, but be careful, that love can lead to a full-blown case of DWAS which can be very expensive.
