My uncle gave me a pistol pac years ago and I love the damn thing. It is as fine as any revolver I have ever shot. The gun pretty much lives with the 4"bbl and the target grips, but recently I decided to slap the 2"bbl and the combat grips on it for giggles and I found something interesting. Regardless of what barrel I put on the gun, if the combat grips are on it I cannot lower the rear sight enough to drop the POI to POA. The rear sight is bottomed out on the frame.
Now I have many revolvers that I have changed grips on over the years and I have never encountered drastic changes in POI just from a grip change, but whether it's due to how the gun recoils in my hand with the combat grips on it or what, there is no adjustment that will get them on target unless I use the target grips. I'm apt to keep the gun in the 4"bbl/target grips configuration because that is my preference but it's nagging at me that I can't use everything in the pac even if I wouldn't. Has anyone else run into this issue or have any ideas on how best to rectify the situation? Any help appreciated!

I did a little searching around and ran across this site selling Patridge style front sight blades in varying heights. I prefer the original style with the colored inserts but I guess this is an option. Has anyone ordered from these guys before?

That is a pretty strange problem. Normally grip change problems are light strike misfires and SA cocking problems, due to some differences in how deeply the grip screw threads into the mainspring seat. There should really not be a POA/POI relationship with a grip or grip screw unless it's causing some type of weird timing issue.
Undoubtedly someone much smarter than I (which is just about everyone here) will be along soon with a more sensible answer.
Welcome to DWF!
PS: EWK is featured on our sidebar as a preferred Vendor (and that is NOT paid advertising space) for a very good reason-his stuff works. He is a DWF Member and got into the DW work as a result of his love for the Dan Wesson revolvers. It is a sideline to his primary machine tool business, but he is very responsive to requests for special stuff from DWF Members.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Yeah it's weird I've never seen anything like it. And lol at me asking about the trustworthiness of a site that advertises here.
I'm going to do some measurements of the front sight blade and the amount of total travel the rear sight has and pick a patridge sight blade that will get me into the middle of the rear sight's range and try that out. It sucks that my local range is closed for duck season so it will be Jan. 27 before I can go shooting again. Ah well I got bullets to cast in the meantime anyway.
