I was at a show today and picked up a model 22 I believe. It is a 22LR that is blued. Made in Monson with a 4-digit serial number starting with 4. Early gun? Do not know how many they may have made in this caliber. The bluing is deeper looking than any Dan Wesson I have seen to date. It has an eight inch barrell and appears to have not had much shoot time judging by the tightness if the cylinder and turn ring. I am not used to searching out 22's but $300.00 did not seem out of line compared to an equivalent 22 of that stature in today's market. The wood grips also looked pristine. When I finally get around to adding a photo collection, I'll include it. Thoughts?

I have a Model 22 as well (which I haven't gotten to shoot yet). I do have a 722 that I like to shoot. It shoots as well or better than my uncles S&W 617.
If I remember correctly the Model 22 was introduced around the beginning of 1980. Last summer a pawn shop in my area had a model 22VH8 and wanted $495 for it. I thought that was a bit high.
I wouldn't have passed it up for $300 either!
Now you're going to have to get us some pictures!

I'm sure I wouldn't have passed that up either, judging from what you said. Sounds like it will be a nice addition to your collection.
This reminds me, on the "models" list...

It shows .22 Magnum's as being made, but I have yet to see one on any of the auctions. Did they really make this gun, or was it on a "to do" list at CZ before they decided to drop revolvers?
I would love to have one in Magnum form.
