New Forum member here.

A neighbor recently passed a way and his widow has asked me to help her dispose of his firearms.  One is a Dan Wesson Model 22, Blue, 6"barrel, from the 1990s (I think).  Very good condition.  With a nice holster and a cloth carrying case.

I am a shooter and I know quite a bit about firearms but the Dan Wesson revolvers are outside my areas of expertise.  So, to help her get the best deal on the revolver, I need to know an approximate value and, more importantly, the best place for me to list it for her.

Any help would be appreciated.  I am in AZ and have the revolver in my possession.  I have taken a photo and can give the serial number as necessary.  My email is joyray(at)frontiernet(dot)net

Thanks

Welcome,

Depending on the condition, it is probably a $400+ gun.  You can list it for sale here in the classifieds section, or place it on an internet auction site like http://www.gunbroker.com

Thanks SHOOT.  That gives me an idea of the value.  I am a seller on GB and I thought about listing it there but was hoping there may be a btter place like this Forum.  So, I'll try here too.

If you put a clean, good condition Model 22 up here with some good pictures, I think you have a good chance of selling it for $400, and none of the GB fees apply to a sale here.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Here's a quick photo of it.  I'll post an ad with all details and more photos as soon as I get her OK to go ahead and sell it.

Thanks to everyone.  This went a lot smooter and faster than I had expected.

Model 15's generally sell for about $400, I'd be shocked if he could not easilly get $500-600 for it since model 22's are so hard to find.

No need to use gunbroker, there are plenty of us in AZ who would be happy to drive over and pick it up.  dwas

Best place to list it in AZ would probably be on arizonashooting.com which is a pretty large and well traveled local shooting forum.  You can probably get a higher price on gunbroker, but by the time you add in listing and shipping fees you will net more by selling locally.

Someone on here will need this one!   Or you could buy it and have one the greatest shooters ever!

mmmmm... sitting here in AZ and I don't have a 22 yet, but unfortunately now is not the time.

Good luck Ray, I'm sure you'll be able to move it.  I've sold a few guns on backpage, you might try there as well.

Thanks to all that have answered.  I will probably post it for sale here, after the holidays, assumimg the widow gives the OK to part with it.

Let me know, I'll drive over assuming you are anywhere near either Phoenix or Tucson.

Look for the barrel tool as well.  A missing tool will take around $50 off the value.
