Hey guys,
wondering if anyone can shed some light on an indexing problem with my supermag? Primer strike is questionable with offset strikes on the primer caps. Cylinder catch seems a little weak compared to my shooting partners. notice the marking on the cylinder from the catch, is this normal? Barrel gap has been set , cleaning has bee adminstered.
Thanks for any help.

The cylinder ring is common on guns that have digested lots of ammo. If you have a fair amount of cylinder movement on full lockup, that can cause off center primer strikes. Off center strikes can be caused by other things too, and are fairly common with revolvers.
I wouldn't worry about it too much unless the gun is shaving/spitting lead, or if you get FTF issues, then you may want to have a smith give it a tuneup.

Thanks Charger,
I do have quite a bit of "play" in the cylinder on lock up. (compared to another buddies Supermag) I just realized I omitted the main reason I started this post. The cylinder is also locking up when using in single action. Halfway through hammer throw it binds up and will not move. Releasing the cylinder and re-engaging gets it going again. It happened in succession on 3 occasions and I stopped shooting it to investigate.

Back your grip screw out a couple turns & see if that changes anything. If it does, then put a washer or two on the screw.
If that doesn't change anything, then I'd blow it apart & give it a good scrubbing. If it still acts up after a scrubbing & lube, then you'd better have a smith look at it.

They disassemble/ reassemble like a large frame:

If you get stuck- don't force anything. Someone here can help.
