Hello everyone!! Has anyone else by chance seen a Stainless model 715 with a solely numeric serial number? This is a pic of the gun I just bought and it is a stainless gun, but as you can see in the photo, there is no prefix before the serial number as well as no other markings to denote stainless steel. Ideas???

That's the first I've seen of one...which is pretty cool.
I'm going with me theory in your intro thread that it's very possible that it's one of the first stainless 715's off the line, when they were first introduced. I imagine that after a few were made, someone said "wait a minute...we need an easier way to keep track of which ones are steel vs. stainless"...that's when they started using an "S" in the number.
This is yet another one of those unanswerable questions that pop up about DW's. Hopefully one day we'll be able to get the answers to questions like these.
