Put a Wolff spring kit in my 15-2 and did some cleaning and lubing.
Very accurate at 25 yds. single action but I hate the DA pull.
Would really like to get a similar feel to the easily discernable
lockup before trigger break of my Ruger GP. I realize that the DW
action is mechanically a thing unto itself but for my money cylinder
lock comes way late relative to the break and the cylinder lock
itself is so weak that I don't sense it thru my fingers and hand.
The DA cam in the Ruger is really two flats at any angle to each
other. The DW cam surface on the trigger(at least in mine) is a
continuous "thumbnail". One continuous pullthru to the break unless
I use the second joint of my triggerfinger, use the tip of finger to
control or brake the pull to exact lockup, and darn near listen to
the gun while doing so (something I can't do at the range). When I
pull straight thru to the break, I move the muzzle even dryfiring.
Is it likely that a previous owner/bodger has reshaped the DA cam in
this old Monson gun? Would I get an earlier and more perceptible
lockup before break from a "new" trigger from the CZ operation,
another salvaged trigger from the "sintered iron" era, other? Would
a heavier cylinder bolt plunger spring possibly give me the result I
want? I have no frame of reference to judge what an "out of the
box" DW trigger would/should feel like. HELP!
