I finally picked up a Monson 744 with a 6 inch barrel in January for under $600 and i am very impressed. She came to me dirty as heck from the Ported barrel assembly and i spent hours cleaning her up. It took me an hour cleaning the inside of the shroud from the ported barrel. I was more than pleased with the results after a few hours cleaning and a little Mothers Mag Polish. I was more than pleased with the results using it for the first time with a rag and some elbow grease. The after pictures are with the new wooden grips i picked up on Ebay. I am now in the market for a NON ported 6 inch barrel tube. I spoke with Eric at EWK and he won't have any until this summer. I see CZ has Barrel Assemblies online and was wondering if anybody had bought just a barrel tube from CZ? I love the gun and it is a great shooter. I am glad to finally get a 2nd 44 magunm and give my SW 29-2 a break. She will be perfect after a new barrel tube and I am thrilled to finally have a DW 44 Magnum.

The ported tube will really never be a problem unless you let it go without cleaning after shooting.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Shoot jacketed bullets until you get the barrel. Less cleanup. Very nice gun. Beautiful grip.
