Well, in reality they're likely very similar in quality, although there is a widely perceived notion that the Palmer guns are inferior. While QC was certainly compromised to a certain extent at the Palmer plant, and undoubtedly some seconds made it out the doors, by and large I'd have to believe the majority were solid.

Anyone had any experience with Palmer blems?

Only Palmers I have are every bit as good as my Monson and Norwich guns. I think the seconds got weeded out long ago.

I've had "problem guns" come through from both factories and I don't think either one is more susceptible than the other.  Some of the Palmer guns that have come through have had some of the best finishes of all.

There is some Internet chatter about Monson -vs- Palmer. I've only ever owned Monson revolvers, just because that's how it worked out.

There are many examples of both owned here, and NO ONE has ever made a case for Palmer or Monson inherently better or worse.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

My Palmer guns are beautiful and flawless--and shoot just as good as any other plant.

I have both Monson and Palmer in a few calibers and have had no problems with either, the Palmer 744  44mags I've had  came with some of the smoooothest triggers of any Dan Wesson.

Bluing on some of the Palmers is the best I have seen also.

I agree with RWSEM the one you own.

DWs from any of the 3 factories are great!

Everything on the Internet is true and accurate, I know that for a fact because I read it on the Internet

Palmer seemed to have the trick to getting a deep, almost black bluing.   So as far as finish goes I'd give a slight nod to the Palmer guns.

I don't any Monson .44s to compare to my Palmer .44s, but on the .357's there were numerous slight machining differences.

Pics are of 15-2 revolvers (not 44s)

NVGDude, regarding the photos you've shown, the changes shown there were all done in the mid-to-latter years at Monson, Palmer merely continued with those changes. That group of photos has been on the internet for a while now & while it's not exactly incorrect, it's not entirely true either & can be misleading.

Right, I have a late Monson that has the checkered hammer, a different rear sight and a different bluing, less shiny than earlier but not as flat as the 14-2....

I suspect you are right that the changes occurred at Monson (probably in the last few years at Monson)  All the Monson revolvers I own have the early features (including the gold outline on the rear sight).  The Model 15-2 above is pretty solidly a 1979 gun from the serial number, and Monson closed down in I believe 1983. My 79 model 22 has the same rear sight and hammer.
