Hi Guys,
Sorry to have been gone awhile. Work and life has gotten crazy busy. Anyway, here are a few pics of 14-1. Once I got Eric's tool and the related bits, I was able to remove the stuck barrel. I don't think it has been shot much but it was certainly neglected and slightly abused. I bought a new ejector rod and a spring kit. Most of the internals are now soaking in ATF. I need to figure out how to remove the spring from the crane. I'd appreciate any suggestions. After that, I can finish the cleaning and re-assemble it. Hopefully I'll get reliable double action cylinder rotation then. (In single action, she is definitely a shooter. ) Anyway here are some pics.

The bore is good
Blood was drawn getting the barrel free. (Thank you Eric for making the tool and thank you Walt for posting how to use the tool.)

Thanks CF. I'll give it another go tonight. I'll double check to make sure there is a replacement in the spring kit. If so and because it is already bent, I may just cut it.
This one is really dirty. It's just caked on the crane. Interestingly, there is very little carbon build up in the cylinder.
Now, I'm getting really anxious to get home tonight.

I made some progress last night. I'm doing some light sanding where parts rub. Generally, I'm using 600 grit but had to use some 320 inside the frame where the machining was fairly rough. I don't have any cold blue right now so I'm just keeping a very light coat of ATF on it. Hopefully I can finish tonight. Then .

I finally finished cleaning and re-assembling. It's better but still not right. I replaced the ejector rod thinking it was slightly bent but the new one shows the same wiggle. I should have looked closed as the cylinder is a little loose on the crane. And the crane is still a little loose in the gun.
So I jumped the gun again and ordered a new crane this morning. It's a fitted part so they are sending it to the local smith where I will pick it up and install it. Hopefully that will fix the DA problem.
I have noticed that the problem is consistent on the same one or two bores of the the cylinder. It is actually over-rotating the cylinder slightly.
My first thought was there was something wrong with the star but it looks good. I'm guessing the cylinder is just loose enough that the hand is making proper contact, but I really don't know. I may give up and let the smith work on it but I would sure like to fix this one myself. I have a feeling this may become my favorite shooter.

I finally figured the over-rotation problem out. The cylinder stop spring was either too short or too weak. Either way it barely exerted enough pressure to raise the cylinder stop. With a fast rotation it was too little to raise the stop in time. I poked through my stock of light duty Wolf springs, found one that was close as to wire diameter and coils per inch, cut off a piece about two coils longer and it now works like a charm.
