Some months ago I posted that I was in the process of installing a 414 SM cylinder into my 375 Frame. I was also waiting to receive a "custom" .410 barrel that would screw into my 375 SM frame.
Well the New 8 " barrel arrived yesterday along with my frame. I completed my cylinder fitting yesterday. Mounted the barrel today ! I hope later this evening get my Dillon set up in 41 Mag to do some loading. The nice thing about 414SM ritht now is Starline has a BUNCH of brass sitting at the warehouse. I have 250 here right now and may order another 250 for future needs.
My loading will begin with a 265 flat nose gas check design. I have H110, Acc 1680, Acc5744, and W296 to begin with. I thought I had some H4227 but must have used it up last time up NORTH here 3 years ago.
Was all the work and time and money worth it... Seen any 414 's for sale lately ? But I have one and I am right Happy to say so.
Keep ya posted on the CAST BULLET developement.

missionary5155:
Nothing personal meant here. However, I think what you have done is appalling! You have created a gun which probably never existed from a gun that is almost as rare.
You now have a gun which has an incorrectly marked frame and doesn't appear to have ever been made by DW (only 7414's seem to have been made). You have also destroyed a gun that is nearly as rare as a 7414.
Do I want a 7414? More than any other gun I can think of. However, sometimes the price is just too high.

Good Evening
I will get pictures as soon as I find my camara.
It has been a long time since I did anything "Appaling" ! Sort of makes me feel all warm & fuzzy inside.
So what did I destroy ??? And it is not a Stainless Model. The NEW 414 cylinder was fitted to my 375 frame. So If anything I now have the ONLY switch caliber 375/414 in existence. Ay any time I choose I can replace the 375 cylinder (that was NOT altered in any way) , replace the 375 barrel & shroud. Walla... What is so appaling about that ????
Yesterday I fired my rounds loaded with 10 grains Unique & the 250 grain plain base "lubed" with Metal Glo. The barrel is smooth. It actually shoot rather well. I could consistently hit clay pigeons at 25 yards with a rest. So this new .410 barrel (1-18 twist) may be a keeper. This barrel was custom threaded to mate to my 375 frame so again the FRAME was NOT destroyed or changed.
Maybe tonight yet I will get started loading some 265gc bullets with a 1680. I am going to start with the same load I started using in my 375SM with a 255 slug... 21 grains. I will increase at 1 grain increments.
PICTURES will follow.....

Found my camara so will give this a try.
One picture will be of the ORIGONAL UNALTERED frame with the new 414 cylinder attched. In front is the new .410 barrel threaded to fit the frame and a lowly 357 SM shroud that is "Pretending" it has grown up. The UNALTERED Origonal cylinder, barrel & shroud with a loaded 375 round is below.
The other photo is of 414 brass and the 265gc bullet I plan to do my load developement with.
Well so much for that… I guess one day I will have to take classes to figure out how to do this stuff. Machines I can handle. Someone out there want to HELP ???? I can mail you the 2 photos and you may be able to post them.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I'm glad to hear that you did not alter the .375 frame in any way. That makes the whole thing acceptable. While you have created a gun that never existed, since nothing was destroyed in the process, then the resulting .414 is cool.
I hope you have many fine days at the range with your new creation.
Sorry for misinterpreting what you did.
BTW, all of those of you who have extra 7414's; I need one badly.
