Just got my 744 back from Bob for cylinder repair and new springs. Bob wasn't able to hone the chambers on the old cylinder so he had to replace the whole cylinder (see this thread if interested, https://www.danwessonforum.com/forum/revolvers/744-oversized-cylinder-cannot-be-salvaged-according-to-bob-at-dw/)
Bob had a small number of unfluted cylinders leftover from the early 90s so I opted for unfluted. He said he had less than 30 and once they're gone, they're gone for good. Looks awesome! I like how beefy it looks now. I probably wouldn't want one on my 715 with the smaller cylinder.
Anyway, it wasn't cheap. He had to replace cylinder, rachet stem, and installed new springs. $326 shipped including salestax. Chambers are mirror polished now which is awesome.

They make nice pen holders. I have a gold plated 44 cylinder on a small walnut wood base with a gold Dan Wesson emblem on it that I got from the estate of the DW plant manager a few years ago. He had 6 made up . He and his wife, who also worked there in the office, had one and the other 4 went to VIPs that visited the plant. The family sent a couple business cards as providence.

Wow!! Talk about bling! That is very cool! How in the world were you that lucky to see the estate of the DW plant manager?!
Are you in the gun business? I assume this was the plant manager when they were in Monson or Palmer?

Andrew,
The sons sold quite a few of Dan Wesson items they inherited on ebay. Several forum members bought things. Flawless belt buckles, beautiful presentation cases, barrels, grips, etc. The end of Monson was the basic time period. I believe they said the parents worked there for over 10years. If I recall, Steve talked to them and they shared some interesting DW history with him.
