I once owned a DW 357 in SS with almost a brushed satin finished. IIRC it was a 6 inch barrel, and although it came with a change/adjustment tool there were no other barrels. I bought it from a friends gun shop back in the mid 90s or so for $250.00, and of course foolishly sold it when another friend offered $100.00 more. My recent purchase of 15-2 is a pistol pack is my second DW firearm, I plan to shoot it often and was curious as to what size frame this gun is compared to a S&W equivalent for an example. I handload multiple calibers and if not for a large supply of factory 38spl+P and 357mag I already possess I would(and can if needed)do so for this gun as well. Are there any common loads that I may wish to avoid? Thanks in advance for any and all help. Just added the photo below because it I found it interesting.

Congrats on your Pac score, they're getting harder to find. The DW is equal to the larger frame S&W, but actually stronger, as far as strength, the DW's are in the class of Ruger, but usually with a better fit and finish. My 357 mag likes the 155/165gr wt bullets the best, however you might have to test different wts and loads as each barrel and gun is an entity unto itself. My best accuracy was with cast swc's that I made from a Lee mold bought back in 1984. I tried from 90 to 180gr in both jacketed and cast before settling on the swc's. Good luck and welcome aboard.

We have a Reloading Forum that can help with this, but DW .357's have a pretty well deserved reputation for being very robust. I'd guess that there is no commercial ammunition that could cause a DW any problems, maybe a constant diet of Buffalo Bore Heavy might be a problem, but DW's have been getting flogged for a lot of years, I've never seen actual evidence of one being blown up or shot to death.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
