and I'm a Dan-o-holic. Most of you know that but tonight I finally found an 8-2 for a reasonable price; $310. That covers all Monson calibers except the dreaded 22 maggie. Anyone have one they want to go to a good home?

I figured, even if it's a franken-38, I can sell the parts for what I'll have into it.

Whats weird is I had the same thoughts, but I have other irons in the fire at the moment so I thought I'd let it pass. I'm glad you got it and that it rounds out a collection for you. It looked legit to me. Let us know when you get it if it really is a .38 Special (hope so).

Just a streak that has come to an end...
15-2 for 250, a 744 for 350, that PM 7 for 750 and now this. I really need to hold out and focus on a 22 mag, now. Besides, I've spent all the Christmas monies....

I've seen one in the last few years is all. Value is a relative term. I suppose it depends on what cash I have on hand and/ or what trade the other party may be interested in. The "book" answer to value for a Monson 22 Magnum is 300 to 330, but I suppose I would go a bit north of that on my initial offer....
In fact, if someone were to put me on to one, which I end up buying, I'd probably pay a "finder's fee"

They are fairly rare for sure, which makes me really kick myself for not snapping up a .22 Mag PP that was offered here a few years ago. Bad timing was the main reason I didn't pounce.
Congrats on landing your Model 8, that's a cool find in itself.

Great score, as to the 22mag for $300, I doubt it. The regular 22's have been going for as high as $550 on the auction sites and the few that I've seen at gun shows seemed to be worth their wt in gold, at least to their sellers.

Nice pick up Ron and you have a great collection going. I don't feel so bad about collecting guns when there are people like you out there. He who dies with the most guns wins. Wins something I don't know what. Good luck on your quest, I'll keep an eye out for you.
