Hi
Just got my PPC and 15-2. Both shoud be able to fire 38 special and 357 mag.
38 special are no problem, but 357 is. Seems to be just a fraction to long. (in the hammer end). The brass gets scratches if I try to force it. Tried 4 different brands - same result.
Some can get in position but then I cant cock the hammer.
Do you have the same problem?
What can I do?

First off Welcome and 2nd the ppc i think is 38 only and you may have a model 8 which would also be 38 only. Post up some pics and let us see what you have. This bunch can solve almost anything. They have already taken care of global warming and this should be an easy one.. Pics please!
Only ones of mine that wont take 357 are the D-11's in 38, which some were 38 others were 357!
Thanks for the welcome.
I will post photos later. (Im not home right now, also see my post in new users forum).
However I don't think its a 38 special only problem.
I also own a action cup. The seriel on that one are "38 xxxxx" and it is 38 special only.
The PPC seriel are "357 xxxx" so I belive it should be 38/357 ?
(I have also seen pictures of another PPC and it has a "38 xxxx" serial).
Also both have fired 357, but it might fire 1 or 2 and the it is unable to load/fire one.
The hammer can't cock or the drum will not turn in place and I can see scratches in the brass cartridge (around the primer). Its seems like the rim thickness are a fraction to thick on some cartridges. (or the place in the drum are different). I will try to switch place in the drum next time a cartridge get stuck.

First off, the PPC pistol is probably NOT a 357 magnum but rather a .38 Special. I collect PPC revolvers from gunsmiths like Power, Ciamillo, Clark and not a one is chambered in 357 Magnum.
However the 15-2 should certainly chamber a 357 Magnum load unless, due to export variances and requirements in the day DW was forced to export only .38 special cylinders. Although you cylinders are essentially, chamber gauges,.....
Do you have a chamber gauge for 357 Magnum? This would be a good item to have as it would eliminate the possibility that your ammo is not correctly sized or has bulged. If you have a chamber gauge, try the "thuunk" test and see if your ammo will drop into the chamber gauge and make a "thunnk" noise.
Have you tried inserting simply a full length sized (unprimed no bullet) 357 case into the cylinder chambers to see if it will insert correctly? This would be a sort of GO gauge and would be proof that your .357 sizer is set up nice.
Lastly, are you using reloads? If so, do you shoot hot loads? Are your cases slightly bulged near the case rim? Sometimes, the full length sizer does not go down all the way to the rim, especially those types of FL sizing dies that have a chamfer or recess to aid or assist in case alignment.
Hope this may help. Your DW's sound nice. I too have an action cup. My only gripe with it is the fact that it does not give the secondary faint "click" that my S&Ws double Action only PPC pistols give just prior to the hammer release. That second faint click, is a tell tale that lets you know that the hammer is about to drop. My Power, Clark and Ciamillo PPCs and bulleyes all emit that faint second click. Not the DW Action Cup however.?

Frdj, it sounds to me that you do have .357 cylinders on both the AC & the 15-2. From what you're describing, you or a previous owner has probably shot a bunch of .38's in them & left some carbon buildup at the ends of the cylinder chambers.
Try using a brass .41 caliber or similar sized barrel brush coated liberally with gun solvent, to clean that stuff outta there. Run the barrel brush to the bottom of each chamber & spin the cylinder about a dozen times by hand...spinning the brush in the chambers. Then swab it out with patches & test fit an empty case, to see if there's improvement. A loaded round will work as well, just don't get sidetracked & shoot your foot off.
Sometimes those steps will need to be repeated a few times to get all the carbon out.
Star4ever, there's definitely .357 PPC's out there, Action Cup's too. Here's a PPC example that sold at an auction...357 is noted by the s/n rollmark.

Yes - that was excatly the problem. I cleaned the chambers and now it works perfect with both 38 and 357. (Except for some home made that are to long for the cylinder).
Thanks for all the answers.
