I didn't think the 14s were SS ..cant wait to shoot it on Saturday ...I also want to clean all scratches and polish it up , pull it to all its bits lube and clean and make it mine .

ok , will go read how to post pics here , thought it would just be a photobucket account or something , photos to follow

It's a 714.

The 7 stands for stainless, and the 14 is for the fixed rear sight, a 715 would be a stainless 357 with an adjustable rear sight.

I own a 714 Dan Wesson revolver as well, and It's one of my favorite guns.Dan-Wesson-2-4-6-inch-barrels.JPGImage Enlarger

Here's my 714 with a scope attached. No high rear sight to get in the way of my scope mount

(There's no front sight on my 8 inch shroud either)

Congratulations on your purchase of a fine Dan, I bet you'll enjoy it.

Good looking pistol...both you guys..

Thanks, it shoots almost as good as it looks too.

I shot this 6 round group with a brand new EWK arms 4 inch barrel (my favorite barrel length) installed on my 714 using a 715 shroud and a model 14 conversion front sight. I was shooting inexpensive Winchester White box 38 special ammo. I LOVE the accuracy of the EWK barrel.

After only 6 shots I took the target down to keep it because the group looked so good. I simply didn't have the heart to keep shooting at it anymore.

My first cold barrel shot went into the bulls-eye. I used the same point of aim for the other 5 shots.

EWK arms makes some very high quality and innovative products for Dan Wesson revolvers like the conversion sights, custom EH (Extra Heavy) shrouds, railed shrouds, a superior all metal barrel changing tool, small parts kits, and more. We are lucky to have him. My EWK barrel tube makes most of my older Monson era barrels look downright rough in comparison.

An original Monson factory Dan Wesson barrel, and muzzle crown (or lack there of) below:

EWK arms barrel below (notice the actual recessed muzzle crown) and a newer 4 point barrel nut.EWK-4-inch-barrel.JPGImage Enlarger

The rest of the EWK barrel - both outside and inside, including the forcing cone and the breech face are just as nicely finished. It was obviously made by a craftsman who cares about his work, and the quality of the finished product. The target says volumes about the accuracy potential of the barrel. I'd buy another EWK made barrel, or shroud in a heart beat.
