 Hello to all!

Well I finely got time and no rain to take a few pictures of the 741!

I went to clean her up Sunday for the first time and wanted to take off the grip, well there was NO screw! surprised  Yes I know the grip is not all the way on but it is a Small frame grip I think........ (Square hole in the grip)

The last owner must have needed it for some other gun!

So whata think??

She needs some TLC and a white 3M pad but I need a grip screw first!!

I do have one question, what WOOD grips may have come on the 741's?

Looks like a nice one to me. The 3m pad does wonders for stainless. I redid my stainless 357 that was pretty beat up and you can't even tell.

Here's a picture of my 741 that I just got. These are the wood grips that came with it. I'm sure someone else will know the name of the style of grip.

Thanks for the cool-pics

Oh, and in my opinion the zebra grips look the best on stainless guns.

You can also buy a Hogue grip for your large frame Dan and they will come with a screw. The only downside is that the supplied screw is usually too long. I have one and will need to cut it down before I reinstall it. The screw was long enough to interfere with hammer spring.

Shhhhhhhh that's my bid on the zebras

Now that's funny. I pulled the link just in case somoene tries to steal them out from under you. Definitely go with the zebras. Good luck with the auction.

He didn't successfully delete that link, since it's clear that was his intent, I took it out

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Thanks for the help Steve, but I had pulled the link to the grip that Tim was bidding on. I had left the link to the stock grip. No worries though.

Sorry, I misunderstood your intent. Next time I'll pay more attention

Tim,

I think your 741 will come out really nice with a little work of the 3m pad. I am not sure, but I think that is a Millett front sight, I have seen one a time or 2 on Ebay.
