Waldo,

That is a very nice looking 715.  I just picked up my used one a couple of hours ago and I'm excited about trying it out!

The 715 seems so small after handling the SuperMags!

So what did you have to give for your 715? Inquiring minds want to know!

Also Waldo,

I hope it's okay but I thought your 715 NIB photo desired to be put in the Top Banner rotation.  I hope that's okay.  If not let me know and I'll remove it.

Thanks,

Jody

Are you sitting down??? $755 delivered from CA, but the last one I tried to buy went north of $900 and it had been reworked, without box and papers but IIRC 2 barrels. Yell

Should be here about this time next week.

No I don't mind, I coppied it from the auction site.

When I talked with them about the gun and photo they said that it was actual photo and they had big bucks in camera gear to take the pictures. I ask if it was unfired, and the guy said maybe only test fired at the factory. There is no nicks, gouges, scrapes or turn ring.  I thought man I hope its not like a couple new S&W's and a Ruger I bought, looked liike they had been shot with black powder.

Waldo - Nice acquisition!

I think you have to think of it as an NIB Stainless Small Frame DW from the Monson years - with box.

Worth every cent you paid IMHO.

And just think, when hyperinflation sets in after these crazy Washington spending....er, - well ok, this isn't a political forum, but let's just say it will always be worth more than you paid...Cool

Great sign off - I was just trying to give a damn myself...

Wow!!! That was a beauty. I bet it came from the same collection.

Something I have been noticing lately is the blued guns are not going much past $400 unless they are a set, reguardless of their condition.

Also I have noticed a lot of nice guns coming out of CA lately is it their anti gun laws? The shop that mine and the blued twin came out of is in CA and they advertize no CA sales.

I've noticed that too. I haven't tried to find out exactly what happened to their gun laws, that makes it so even sellers in Kalifornia won't sell to people in their own state...that's just plain crazy. It's amazing what they have let happen to their own state, and what is attempting to be pushed on the rest of us.

Now & then I see a seller who says they will sell to the "Republic of Ca.", and I just assume that they've had to jump through some flaming hoops to be able to do that.

I'm sure bad guys will have no problem going to a surrounding state to do their shopping & drag back trunks full of guns, to be used on the unarmed public.

California laws are the toughest in the US and now with their anti-lead laws coming into effect they're going practically total anti-gun, and with a Republican Gov. that made a living shooting guns as an actor!!!!!!  Watch your own state's legislation, even Ky state legislaters were discussing lead bullets and actually had a bill to tax bullets and hunters for the new engraved bullets, that will outlaw reloading and casting if passed.  Sorry to soap box, but we all have to be vigilant to safeguard our sport.

I believe if I lived in California I would have to move to another state!  As robhof stated please be aware of what's going on in your state.  I'm a member of the VCDL here in Virginia and they are a verify active group fighting for our 2nd Amendment rights.  I would highly recommend supporting your state RTKBA groups!

Now Waldo I think you got a pretty nice looking 715.  While the price might seem a little high (I don't think it was unreasonable) it's not like you can run out and pick up one that nice just anywhere.

Post some pictures when you get it.

Jody

Jody & all: I completely agree.

I went to the "American Tea Party" that was held at the Texas Capital in Austin yesterday.  Arranged on short notice, but there was a solid turn out and many people who spoke.

The main thrust, beyond the abysmal direction of our current government, was that all of us folks that are "trying to give a damn" (thanks so much for that Waldo, it's great) - We MUST get involved to invoke change!!  Write emails, write hard copy letters (believe it or not they are remarkably effective).  If you're anywhere near your reps office, go visit them in person.  For us near the capital, go visit a bunch of 'em!!

Alright, I'm off the soapbox now and back to trying to give a damn...

Thanks Jody, it was so nice looking I thought the photos were old DW standard commercial pictures, but the guy said no, they have big $$$$$ in camera, lighting and back ground gear. If he had said it was a stock photo I would have passed on the gun, but between his answer and his feed back I made the plunge.

As for as the people shipping to CA goes, I bet they have not checked into their laws. I would not even ship a pocket knife to CA, and have met a lot of people who have have left the Left Coast for normal US states.

I guess I will try to find a home for my model 15 that got me started in DW revolvers. The gun is almost new but no box or papers and original owner was a woman and it has only about a box, maybe two fired through it and has just started a very faint turn line. If the 715 is as pretty I may find it hard to shoot. The 15 was just too pretty and I quite shooting it and bought a S&W 686-14 PP to shoot and made the 15 a safe queen. I did pick up a nice used 4" barrel & shroud, took the old 6" shroud that has some really beautiful bluing and a little wear and vault nick because it didn't have a rug when I first got the gun. I bought a full lug shroud from DW and made it look new again. I love the looks of new blued guns, but hate what shootiing them does to the bluing and turn rings are so obvious.

If anyone here wants to make an offer and give it a home just contact me, other wise it will become trading material. Not really sure if I will sell it as I would lose my behind, and besides it shoot so good and made the PC S&W's I have to same.
