Came across this pistol pack about two years ago and joined the forum.Initially I wanted to hang onto it, but times have changed!
Would love an estimate as to what someone would pay for this unique set.
My understanding is the second owner bought it already nickel plated, as the label states it left Monson February 1982 as a blued gun.
Some of you said that since the trigger and hammer are plated as well it may not have been a factory job. The original wrench inch is included.
I was told that only the 4 inch barrel was fired. I only shot the 6 inch barrel maybe 50 rounds. I have a dear friend that wants to buy it, but may or may not depending on what you experts think!
vertex doesn't have enough posts to do a three year evaluation...he's got enough for about three minutes.
I'll do just a one year for you.
Beautiful pack. I'd bet there are some other members who will have a god handle where to start/ask.

Is it definitely nickel plated or was the steel professionally polished?
Definitely nickel plated. The LGS that I bought it at said the original owner had it nickel plated at the DW factory. The box has no proof of that, stating that it left Monson a blued pack.
Some at this forum said since the trigger and hammer were nickel plated it may not be a factory job. Apparently there is some reference somewhere that they didn't plate the trigger or hammer.
How could I find out? Are there records of guns being re done at the factory, and how would I access them?
Thanks in advance

Cap, no factory records are available. BATF kept all the records after each bankruptcy. It is what it is, a beautiful gun but not original. At least it has 4 matching BA's. That is the biggest drawback to buying a nickel or chromed Dan. The impossibility of finding more barrel lengths. IMHO, putting it on Gunbroker with a penny or low start with no reserve and you will get market value. You will need many pictures from all angles including recoil shield, sideplate, top strap and rails. Probably 30 plus. Primates love shiny things.

I can buy a brand new CZ 715 Pistol Pack with 3 barrels for $1500.
I prefer stainless to blued and as mentioned previously a nickle plated Dan Wesson is kind of an odd duck. That said if you offered it to me for $800 I think I would jump on it. If you offered it to me for $1000 I think I would pass. But it is really all about what the pistol is worth to the buyer and seller.

Oughtsix, ANY Dan complete pack is worth more than 800 bucks even if non original. That said, I wouldn't give a premium for an aftermarket plated gun.
