Hey everyone.
I'm new to this site and was recommended by a few people from SGN. I have a .357 Dan wesson and I was wondering if anyone can tell me anything about it. Year, model, value, options etc. The only numbers on the gun is 43719. Thanks.

welcome to the dwf-sign. What you have is a model 14 porkchop. The porkchop is a nickname because of the leg on the barrel shroud. I believe your gun was born around 1974 or 5. You can find 2.5 and 4 inch barrels for it on the auction sites fairly regularly. Any small frame grips should work on this shooter. Value is real subjective to condition and location, but I would say in the $300.00 to $400.00 range most places.

Kick back and hang out for a while and enjoy the site.

Hey thanks for the responses. Is it worth more as is or if I have it reblued and grips put on it.

Would not hurt it at all to freshen it up, but I'm not sure how much extra $$$ value re-bluing and grips would add.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Yip a 14, these are just great shooters. Leave as is, if you are looking to part with it redoing it wouldn't pay off!     Welcome to this place!

Are you wanting to sell it?

Depending on what you paid for it, rebluing probably wouldn't add much value above the bluing cost itself. So if you do it, it should probably be for personal reasons...because you'd like to own it wearing a fresh finish.cool

The grips aren't original to the gun, those were made in the earlier "-2" years. Your gun would originally have come with grips with no medallions.
