The link below is a firearm I am interested in but do not and am not willing to pay full retail for. Until very recently I was the high bidder, and a dealer is now bidding against me:(…. What I am asking, is what is a general idea of full retail on it, as I am not willing to go past 85% on that figure, or 1270, which ever is less. In other words, I don't want it enough to pay but 85% of what it is actually worth. Any help here on short notice?

If that is the one you want, go to your $1270. The challenge with 445 SM is usually finding brass, and getting the actual 445 die set is nice too. If that dealer is going to flip it, he probably won't go a lot higher. Too specialized a gun to give a retail, I think you need to go to your limit, and see where things go from there
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Well, that is the rub. If it was blue I'd already be there. Stainless is nice, but blue is beautifull. Just have to balance a good price on a nice one with waiting forever on a blue one and maybe never getting it because of price/condition. The stainless is why I will not go full worth of the revolver.

Three things pushing this up:
1) Lots of brass-LOTS of brass
2) Dies, which are not essential, you can also use .44 Mag dies
3) IHMSA number-does it have any value to you?
My son bought a New in Box unfired 445 SM AGS this past summer for $800, oh yeah, Serial Number 000001. Within a week it was no longer unfired
Value is in the eye of the beholder, if you want blue, hold out for blue

I bought my IHMSA 7445 for 700 at a retail store this year for 700. I am using 44 mag brass and found brass as the year went by.
I have to agree w/ Steve- if you want blue; hold out for blue. No sense in having buyers remorse when it costs so much.

Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

I think $1270.00 would still be within reason due to the fact of all the brass and die set. I asked the seller about the brass. It is IHMSA stamped brass, not starline headstamped, that to me makes the brass worth a touch more than if it were Starline which is more readily available. My 2 cents...

Yeah, I'll hold out for a blued one I guess. Not that good of a deal I can't pass it up. Every time I see something like this on the edge of yes or no, I always remember passing up a couple in the past I regret. A couple in particular were a bren ten and an amp automag that in hindsight were a great deal. I suppose the 445's in blue are not that rare and I should find one at a somewhat reasonable price if I wait.
