I fell into a great Mod15 at the gunshow last week. Pristine blueing, 8" full lug barrel and pachy grippers. Also came with what I now know is an EWK barrel wrench. And since no one was looking at anything that didn't have a hicap mag I walked out the door with it for $300. Finally got the chance to shoot it and even with my cast reloads that I have for my snubby it was shooting a nice 2inch group at 25yrds (off the bench of course, I'm good, just not Bruce Willis good). The problem is, even after I ran the rear blade all the way to the right my POI is still about 2 inches to the left of POA. I was wondering if there was some way to fix this sight or buy another that has more right side adj or failing that I would like to put some glass on it. What are my options for scope rails?

You're going to think I'm nutz, but try re-tensioning the barrel. If that doesn't help pull the barrel & shroud, reinstall regap & retension.

I didn't know how to use it.”

Actually that was the first thing I thought of. Surprisingly resetting the barrel didn't change the POI at all, or if it did it was so slight I couldn't tell the difference. Looking at a scope rail to put on it anyway so it's probably not a huge issue.

I own a several DW's, and I have seen exactly the same thing happen, and I don't know why some of them seem to have that same tendency. The suggestion I have is to hold the shroud very firmly "right" while you tighten the barrel nut, which can tend to twist the shroud  left, especially if the shroud locating pin on the frame fits loosely in the shroud.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I put on a site of fiber optic front sights on all my 4 pistol pack barrels, but they probably wouldn't be any better. Good luck finding a scope mount. B-Square no longer makes them, Dan Wesson (CZ) has been out of stock on them for years.

Saw this if you want to spend the big bucks.

I don't have any pictures of My Dan Wesson with the fiber optic sights on them, but it sort of looks like the front sight of my 10mm.

I got them at EWK.

There is definately some play in the fit of the pin to the shroud. I feel like the holding right while tightening might fix this. The only rail I can find is the Weigand. I've used his mounts on Taurus and Rugers and been happy with them. Gonna try with irons first, but I think I have a set of 86 year old eyes stuck in my 43 year old head.

You may find that wrapping the locating pin with tape will help it center more accurately.

If you do try tape try one layer of ss or aluminum tape for heating ducts. Get it at a hardware store for around $7. It has a paper backing. I have used is successfully to add space to other metal projects. Trim it and use one wrap then test.
