I made the mistake of dropping in my favorite candy store this afternoon, only to find a beautiful deep blue .44 Mag 6” Dan Wesson looking at me in the gun case. I asked if I could see it (fondle it) the counter man handed it to me and said it is a ported barrel model (Power Control) and it comes with an un-ported barrel also, oh, it also has the box, paperwork and tools!
I have three other Dan Wesson’s that I bought new in 1987 to 1990 when I shot Silhouette and this one as far as I can tell has never been shot! It is spotless. It’s a Monson, Mass. gun and the letter that came with it is dated April 1 1981 (April Fools day) the serial # 010777, I think I may go gambling tonight, it’s my lucky day!
The out the door price, after a little haggling and cash payment was almost exactly what I paid for my 7445 VH8 that I bought in 1990!
I have been looking for a nice .44 Mag for a very long time, this one made the wait worth it.
On with the pictures, they just don’t do it justice!

Congrats on the cool find, it's a real beauty!
One interesting thing I noticed is that yours was made shortly after they started using the long hammer spur. So far, the highest s/n I have with a short hammer spur is #10351, yours is the lowest number I've seen with the long spur so far. Coincidentally, #10351 belongs to another DWF member HERE
Neat stuff!
