I have a Dan Wesson 14-2 with a 6" and 2.5" barrel, and a Model 15-2 with 6" barrel.  I wanted to buy a 4" form my 15-2.  First I would like to ask if the shop.cz-usa.com is a legit website (ran into a fake one a couple years ago that required bit-coin as payment).   And if so, how are these these new barrels compared to my older ones?   Are they any good?  Thanks in advanced!

Yes, https://shop.cz-usa.com/ is legit. I bought a whole set for my 44mag to make a pseudo pack out of it.

A lot of folk want barrel assemblies that are commensurate with the period of manufacture. Of course they are not made anymore. There are a number of folks who buy packs and break them up and sell parts on eBay and GunBroker.com. More on eBay.

14-2s are harder to come by but are usually less expensive. Monson made guns have a two line roll mark on the shroud. Palmer guns have one line, just the cartridge. Norwich guns are laser etched with one line. The Serva era and the CZ era are a bit different. Not everyone cares if the shroud is matching the frame but it matters to collectors and folks that want to keep a higher value. Another thing to be aware of is that  most14-2s have a matte finish but those made in the later Monson years can have a polished finish. The matte and the polished should probably not marry. 🙄.

You might consider buying a pack with all 4 barrels. Then you could sell your other gun or NOT. So get a 14-2 pack and a 15-2 pack and you will be on the way to DWAS. That is Dan Wesson Acquisition Syndrome. It is incurable but can be controlled by low funds or some wives.

I ended up trading my 14-2 with the 6" barrel to my buddy (might get it back someday), and bought a 15-2 higher profile sight for the 2.5" barrel and drilled it out (since the 14s are pinned), it now has the right height for my 15-2.   I'm going to order the 4" barrel for the 15-2 as well, so I will have a 2.5", 4", and 6" barrel for my 15-2.   A much cheaper "pistol pack", but it works for me.   I will post some pics soon.   Thanks again!
