Well I am cancer free now and finally up and walking pretty good with my new upright roll around walker with 400lb weight limit so I\'m good there. Any way after having beaten stage 4 non Hodgins Lymphoma and now up and getting my strength back along with muscle mass and have started shooting again with a new Browning Buck Mark 4.5\" threaded barrel and a new model 41 S&W a bucket list gun.
When I started with them I had to use a tripod to hold them up and required help racking the slide, well now I can rack the slide on my DW 1911 Razorback 10mm with 20lb recoil spring so last week I ran across the new pistol pack and bought it. Well it has rained every day since I got it last Thursday, including today, so I've yet to shoot the beauty.
So I'll just report on fit and finish for now and general impression of the gun. I love the new design of the barrel shroud and the finish is perfect. As for cylinder it is a perfect lock up with no front to back play or rotational play, it's almost scary perfect.
As for the trigger, DA pull might be a tad heavier then my old 715 and single action seems a little heavier also, I'm guessing 8 to 10 ponds DA and 3.5 to 4.5 SA mode. But this is not very scientific so take it with a grain of salt as I don't have a trigger gage.
Now as for the rubber Hogue grips, they feel comfortable but look cheap and do not fit proper to frame on right side and sticks out about 1/8th inch from frame at top. With Hogue over molded grips in my experience with S&W revolvers in the past, it's a common problem.
I have found one of the custom grip makers http://lbcustomgrips.com/grips/revolver-grips/lb-special/ that makes grips to order and if I remember correctly he's a member here. Anyway I'm thinking of a LB grip, probably in just walnut. I had thought about a thumb rest but between not ever having had a thumb rest on revolver and the expense is a turn off for just a back yard steel shooter.

Well I contacted Jody for mailing and pricing info so I can send him a check. I'm wanting American Walnut for my American made beauty. I hope he has some in stock.

I sent him the $75 by web pay through NFCU for the LB Walnut high gloss grip.
One thing not cooperating is the weather, it's rained every day since last Thursday when I got the gun.

Well after a rocky start with new 715 do to some bad old ammo it is up and running smooth now and ringing the steel out in the back yard.
Also the drop dead beautiful grips arrived from Larry at LB Custom Grips. I haven't installed them as yet because of pivot pin sticking way to high out of side frame and I will have to grind it down tomorrow before installing the grip.

I got the pin smoothed sanded with my trusty Dremel Tool and grips on. WOW!!! What a difference it makes, it no longer looks like a cheap S&W 686 with those excellent and fugly shock absorbing over molded grips. Battery for my Nikon is dead and won't charge, but will try one with the cell phone later today.
