New Dan Wesson owner - just acquired a model 14 with a 6" barrel, and a 2 1/2" barrel.

Is it possible to remove/change the front sights ?

Is there a fiber-optic front sight available for the model 14 ?

I see on EWKarms website there is this available - but I'm not sure if it would fit a model 14 :

Dan Wesson Fiber Optic Sight Green

Thanks for any advice !

Welcome to DWF.

I think an EWK FO on a 14 will be a pretty tough fit.

But you do have a very nice 14 laugh

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Welcome to the forum. A model 14 is a fine gun. Some folks will paint the ramp with flourescent paint. Or buy anothet gun. That's what most of us infected with DWAS do.

Welcome to the forum from PA.

I have a model 14-2, just a later version of your revolver. I bought the EWK FO sight which fits model 15-2s and modified it. I had to take my barrel to a gunsmith and have the original pin drilled out as I could not drive it out. I then cut down the EWK sight which is taller and drilled it and pinned it in my barrel. I used a split pin to make it easier to remove later if I need.

I actually made the height of the sight dead on with the ammo I use in the gun. Kept cutting it down a little bit until I got the right height. Which required several trips to the range. I taped the sight to the barrel with electrical tape for trial runs. This sight is really my second effort, the first one I fastened on with a rubber band for a trial run. On about the third shot the rubber band flew off with the fo sight! I never did find it.
