So my new 15-2 came in last night. This is one I bought from GB, via Duffy ( who lists a lot guns). The entire process went very smooth - I am well pleased with GB and Duffy and my FFL. So the quandary? The gun is TOO nice!
Yep, this gun is pristine with only the slightest hint of ring. Even the barrel nuts show no sign of ware. This is a gun I planned on giving my daughter as a shooter/self defense gun. Heck this gun is in better shape than my own gun that I bought new in 1986! Problems with the gun:
no box
no tool(s)
no original wood grip
I happen to have all that... as extras.
So now what. I could almost put together a "boxed" gun and just pack it away, and get her another one. As the foremost authority on collecting DW's what do Yall think? Or should I just go with the original plan and be happy she gets such a nice old gun?

Ditto what Zoommb said, Just how many shots does it take to wear out a DW anyway? No better way to find out than Father and daughter/son. BTW congrats on a nice score.

Hehe.. well more than around 6000. I know I have put that many .38 target loads through mine.

If you're collecting, put it away, whatever choice anyone makes on this question is the right one for them.
When my son bought his .445 SuperMag AGS, NIB, Serial Number 1, the first thing he said was "we gotta get some ammo and shoot this thing".
That's my boy-no safe queens in this family!
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
