Hey guys, I'm brand new to this site.  Found it when doing some research for my first DW purchase.  It's a 22 V6, Monson gun, Ser #22XXX and came with a DW rug, barrel wrench and manual REV 5/79 (Which leads me to believe this gun was made in 1979).  Blueing is deep and shiny, lockup is tight and DA trigger pull is solid and much lighter than my S&W 17-4.

Only issue is a couple light "rust" spots on the barrel and cylinder most likely from long term storage in the rug as there are rust spots on the fabric as well.  Can I hit these spots with some fine steel wool to polish them out or should I just leave them.  In order to see them you have to turn the gun in the light to catch the matte spots amongst the beautiful blueing.

Other than that the gun looks pretty much new.  Enjoy the eye candy!

dwf-welcome to dwf

Use Flitz polish, Q-tip lightly and wipe off and repeat if necessary. You can

finish the whole gun after you get the spots done but don't go commando with

alot of pressure in one spot like a Jackwagon ! Sorry , I know a guy who did that

and it weren't pretty. wink

Great pic!  x2 on the Flitz- be careful, go slow, and use good light.

Welcome,

Ron

If it's not too late, try one of these.  Use a little oil, lightly rub the rust away.  They work great.
