Figure after doing the introduction thread I might as well wander in here.

I just purchased a High Standard Sentinel MK 11.  The revolver arrived pretty much as advertised in very nice condition.  It was apparently part of a collection and frankly does not appear to have seen a lot of use.

First order of business for me will be locateing a 2.5 inch barrel and shroud.  I know that a High Standard branded one will be difficult and a 14-1 Dan Wesson probably just as difficult. However, I will not know until I try. Last resort would be a non Pork Chop BA with the EWK adapter.

Service type grips will also be on the list.

It will be a few months before I can give the revolver a test run.  I got the revolver on GunBroker but have not figured out how to post the photo's from there in a post over here.

Good to have you here....from an escaped NYer.

Good move on the escape.   Nice to be in the south even if only temporarily.

High Standard shrouds are like unicorns. Porkchops show up occasionally. If you use a - 2 shroud you will probably need a 15-2 as opposed to a 14-2 because of the removable front sight. You will need a lower one. There are lower colored insert sights out there but they are not too common. Actually, I have found 3 sizes,  standard, medium and lowest. EWK has sets of Patridge sights of different Heights.

mmmmmmmmm........   I thought a -2 with the EWK adapter would work without changing the sight.   Am I incorrect on that?   Important to know so I don't jump on a -2 if I see one available.

DD, due to the fixed rear sight on your MK II, you would indeed need to switch the front sight of a 15-2 shroud to a lower one, to be able to shoot to point of aim. Other than that, it's not a biggie. 🙂

If you find a 14-2 shroud, you will likely not need to change the site.

Thanks Charger Fan.  That is what I thought.  Just to be sure, any pork chop BA from a fixed sight service model will work without a sight change. I.e. Mark 2 if High Standard and any model 14 if DW.  How about a non pork chop model 14 ( Service model) used with a EWK adapter . would that require a sight change?  Just thought of something else I forgot to research.  Can I use an external nut SHROUD on my Mark 2 with a internal nut and barrel?
