I just picked up a new Pointman 9mm on Friday. I spent a lot of time researching this gun before pulling the trigger on it. I was surprised to see some of the changes to this model. First, the familiar Blue hard case is No more. They include a black soft case with the gun. Second, the gun No longer has PM-9 on the upper. It simply says Pointman. I had to check the magazine to make sure it was a 9mm. Third, the front optic is Green vs the traditional Red on the PM-9. I checked the DW web site, and they have a mix of the new vs old pictures. The left and right shots show the new Pointman lettering, but the specs still show the PM-9. I am pretty sure that's all that changed, but am concerned that they may have changed other things. I have asked for the DW rep to confirm what exactly changed between the models. The actual model number 01942 remains the same. Does anyone know about these changes?

Hey Art welcome to the forum from PA! There has been many changes across the line since 2019 or so. Mostly all are cosmetic. The quality is still there just trying to freshen up the line, I guess. I personally haven't been big on some of the changes especially the Valor. I hope they bring back the hard cases, the bags are nice but the cases protect better. Only drawback is they take more room up in the safe. Oh, you can change the FO rod out in the sight to red if that's your preference.

This is the response I received from the DW rep for Euro Optics which is where I purchased the gun. Good news Its the same gun.
"If we are speaking about strictly SKU #01942 (introduced in 2019) Pointman 9mm - the slide graphic change from "PM-9" over to current "Pointman" was transitioned as an in-line change 2-3 months ago. Anything received that says "Pointman" on the slide is indeed the same gun, with no other changes, other than the slide saying "Pointman"."
