The Beretta is a great gun (I absolutely love my 92FS) but you came out on the best side of that trade, for sure. I'll defer to Ole Dog on values because he knows these guns much better than most, but in my local travels, I haven't run across a 744 for under $900 (online, maybe) in quite some time.

High, low or sequencial serial numbers don't mean much to Dan collectors IMHO. ANIB is a big deal as there are not dozens on Gunbroker like Pythons. Monson is more highly regarded by some than Palmer. I am of the opinion that Norwich First Issue small frame guns are the finest made. I really like the sleek look of frame pins polished flush with the frame like all other fine Revolvers. Also the bead blasted top strap and shroud rib look like diamond dust. 1000 each is a reasonable top value.
That would be a model 715 made in the Palmer, Mass. factory from 1991 to 1995. Condition, box, style of shroud, grips and tool have a bearing. There is a premium of 200 to 400 dollars for a 10 " over an 8". Depending on these things it could range between $550 to 950 for an 8" barrel.

I fully understand, rova. There’s always that little voice in the back of our brain saying: I wonder which one shoots better?
You’re in a unique position to compare identical revolvers that were made at almost the same time. Should be interesting to see if any anomalies show up over the years. Happy shooting!!!

Also new to the forum today, I just bought a pair of DW model 44VH revolvers yesterday, one is an original pistol pac s/n 00086X the other is a later model year s/n B027XXX, the pistol pack came with the 4, 6, and 8 inch barrels the other revolver has the 6" barrel. I did some research but couldn't nail down the value. The serial number hand written on the tag on the case for the pistol pac matches the 00086X serial number. I have the barrel wrenches, shims, extra sight blades, owner’s manual, barrel changing instructions, and keys for the case. I appreciate any insight into the value of these.

A guy I work with traded me this, plus cash for a Beretta. I wanted a 44 mag revolver for a while and took the trade. I’ve researched for a while and can’t really find a value for the 4”, anyone able to help?
If that was my gun I wouldn't take less than $1200 for it. But I kinda love my DWs a little more than some people. I have a couple of 744s, 2 41s, one blued and one Stainless and several 357s that I really enjoy shooting.
I would enjoy seeing more pictures of it your 744...
