On the grip, it has DWA instead of DW. Are the grips original?

Here's a couple of examples of earlier DWA logo grips. If the logo looks similar to any of these, sure, it should be an original. I guess we'd have to see the grip to tell if it's original.

Yep we are going to need pics to know for sure! I think the grips with DWA on them were used on earlier 15-2s, seems like later ones have the DW. Did you look in our archive in the header at the top of this page? Check out the serial # chart, you can get a pretty good idea what year your 15-2 was made.

My grips are like those in the photo and the gun is a 15-2 VH8. The serial nume is 179XXX so I am guessing it was made in the 1979 era. It is really clean and I am looking forward to shooting it. I have a Taurus 66 with a 6 inch but I am thinking that the 8 inch heavy lug will be different.
I traded a S&W sigma 9mm at a local shop as they 9mm are hot sellers and this one was not.
