New to the forum here and just wanted to say that I just put on lawaway a 15-2 VH .357 Mag Pistol Pac. No pics yet as the local shop still has it. Its a 4 barrel set with origanal grips, barrel tool, and case. It also came with a unfinished grip thats in the case thats not even shaped yet. Basically its a square block of wood with the hole for the square tang cut into it. Gun is nice and clean with no visible signs of bluing wear. Serial number is 55xxx. I really dont remember the numbers but its a 5 didit number. It aslo has a gold tag on the side of the frame that it was specially made for this particular owner. As the story goes at the gun shop this particular person was a machinist for DW. The son of this person inherited the gun and has since traded it in because of personal issues. As soon as I get it home I will post pics.

I'm intrigued by the gold tag on the frame, haven't seen one like that before. We'd definitely love to see some when you get it home. From your description, it sounds like it's probably an early 15-2 model, with fixed front sights. However, I haven't seen one of those Pacs come with the grip blank before, so that's interesting too. Maybethe grip blank was substituted for the buckle & patch?
The grip blanks were part of the older "Porkchop" Pacs pictured below.

Congrat's on getting a DW Pistol Pack, the block for the grip was from the early days of DW now you can crarve a grip to fit your hand, this was offered before buckles or patches, also those early packs did not have the yellow/gold fabric either. I'm thinking with that serial number range you may also have fixed front sight blades instead of the interchangable color sight blades. Kind of nice you got some history of the DW from the Gun shop about the original owner.
Can't wait to see the Pic's!

Well the case does have a yellow/gold type of fabric. I believe the outside of the case was a light brown or tan color. How would I tell if the front sights are interchangeable. I did happen to notice that it appeared to be a drift pin under the front sight. The gun does have all black sights on it and all the barrels though. Thanks for all the warm welcomes also. I will get pics posted as soon as I get it home. It was kinda pricey so its going to take a few pay days. This was a completely spur of the moment purchase. I couldn't let it go home with someone else.
