Hi,  first of all I'm new to Dan Wesson's and my first is a 10"SS 414SM. I already shoot the 414SM in a custom 14" Encore and love the caliber for whitetails here in IL.

My question is it possible to get a unfluted cylinder for it? I understand from reading posts herre I can still get barrels and shrouds, but was wandering about a unfluted cylinder.

Thanks

David

And yes I will get some pics posted asap.

As a matter of fact you can!  I just had that done on the gun below in tha last several months.  Yuo can send it to CZ and Keith will do his part.  Good Choice occasion

SMF thanks for the quick answer. I see you have all the different barrel lenghts, how do you like the 6″ barrel? I am thinking of going with one as a good compromise between carry and velocity.

I already have a 10″ which will work for stand hunting, so was thinking 6″ for packing and stalking. I am more of a handgun hunter than a target shooter.

One last question how long on the turn around (cylinder) or for ordering barrels/shroud?

Thanks

David

Dekker,

My gun started out with the 8" and I added the others.  the turn around was abut 1-month.  the cylinder part took a little longer.  I will give you a piece of advice, what you do with it is up to you.  If you want the laser engraving to match your existing shroud on both sides, send your existing one in when placing the order.  There are so many variations of the laser that I learned the hard way, they do not all look alike.  I just shot the 6" last weekend.  I honestly did not mind it, much.  It has a bit more muzzle snap up than the heavier ones, but oh look out for the 4"!  That'll wake you up.  It was controllable but not one you would want to shoot a box of ammo through at one range session.  The 4" would do well for a hunting pack gun.

Hope this helps,

SMF

If you're going to drink, don't drive. Don't even putt.
