Welcome to the Forum. Dan Wesson .22lr revolvers come primarily in two "flavors", the Blued Model 22 and the Stainless Model 722. They are functionally and mechanically identical. They incorporate the interchangeable barrel design and internal lockwork of the DW Small Frame revolver, and are generally extremely accurate.
There is additionally a less commonly seen 722 developed as an IHMSA item that is single action only.
Use the same routine to check out one of these as any revolver:
.22 lr DW revolvers tend to sell for higher prices than their larger DW .357 brothers
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

My 22 is the first Dan I purchased. In DA, it has a great trigger; so smooth I can't feel the break. I love it. I bought mine on GB so I didn't get to handle it but it was in great shape. (Of the other two Dan's I purchased, one had butchered internals and the other was filthy. I'm still glad to have them and it helps that I got them at a good price.)
Check out this thread for tips on buying a used revolver. (Apologies if you already know.) https://www.danwessonforum.com/forum/revolvers/revolver-checkout-how-to-tell-if-a-particular-specimen-is-any-good/ If you can't lay on it, study the pics closely and ask for more. Ask the seller any questions you may have, just be aware that some sellers may "puff" a little or a lot. I probably looked at 10 or more and bid on a couple before I got mine. Extras like a feeler gauge and barrel tool are nice but aren't necessary. (Eric makes a great tool, most auto stores will have feeler gauges and LB makes beautiful grips.)
Mine has the 8" barrel and VH shroud. It does get a little heavy. At some point, I'll look for a 4" BA for it.
HTH and good luck.
