I'm new to DW pistols but have admired them for years, I picked up a W12 today with 75xx serial number, 6" barrel, here's where I need help, it came with no tools, I am looking for a wrench and gauge, any good places to buy these, I would also like to find out other available barrels for this model, any information would be greatly appreciated

First of all Welcome to the DWF Sign... Please stop in the new members section and tell us a little about yourself.  If you have a W12, a wrench is right down in the garage...Smile  All you need is a 12 point wrench (5/8" I believe).  You can use a .005 feeler gauge to set the gap.  Barrels are a little scarce for the porkchops like yours, but they can be found.  By the way... we need pics...Post Pics....

Yep, Shoot pretty much covered it. A 5/8 box end wrench fits quite nicely & feeler gauges are as close as your local auto parts store...or your garage.Smile The real thing can be found from time to time on eGouge, Gun Broker & other online places...just keep an eye open & one will pop up.

I've got a 2" W12 barrel & shroud, PM me if you're interested.

Also yes, let's see some pics if you've got some!Laugh  And definitely stop by the Introduction area & say hi.Welcome

I have seen the info about using the socket, how tight are we talking about, the previous owner only had this finger tight and that seems a little dangerous

slightly tighter than finger tight--you'll know when you feel it...  Don't put a giant ratchet on it.  If you have a 12pt short wrench you can use that also.

I would like to buy more barrels for this, especially the 2.5 and 4 as I carry concealed and currently carry a S&W Mod 10 3 inch, my grips I have not seen yet on the forum, they are heavily etched and are the combat style, my questions what are reasonable prices for barrels and shrouds or both together and what is the advisability of using it for concealed carry, how many barrels are available that would fit this pistol, the more I read about it the more excited I become, also I see that holsters for it also fit the S&W 686, which I have, is this true? I paid $350 for it and the bluing and appearance of the pitol and barrel are super, did I get taken?

Thanks in Advance

If you are happy with yours, then you got a good deal...  Barrels are available and the prices vary depending upon condition.  Figure around $100 for a complete Assembly if you are lucky.  Sometimes you can find them cheaper if you are very luckyLaugh.  Barrels for the W-12 are available in 2,4, and 6".  I have the 6" and the 2".  I also have a HS chop with the 4".

There is just something about that gun that makes me DroolDroolDrool, bigtime. It is just gorgeous.  There is a balance there that few guns have.  Every time you post this pic, I get the Drool all over again.

I'm 95% sure those are factory checkered grips. I think SHOOT has a brochure copy showing those grips & I've seen them on one other gun sometime in the past. I will say that they seem to definitely be less common than the non-checkered version. Plus, they look much more purty than the plain ones.Cool

Oh & I agree that they feel good, I was pleasantly surprised that they feel as good as they do.Smile I really like 'em!

Go slap some pics in the Porkchop picture thread! 😀

I've seen those grips on Ebay a few times and they usually fetch a very good price.  I.ve never seen that checkering pattern on any of the DW catalog offerings, they might be aftermarket.  A fine weapon and worth what you paid.
