Hi there, newbie here. Well I've read a bunch of those posts explaining what was what and now I know a lot more but not sure if enough. The first post with the photos attached, the photos i really wanted to see wouldn't load up. So I "think" I have a 15-v2 ? 357, blue, 8 inch barrel, adjustable rear sight and just six numbers to the serial number, no letters and from Monson. Pic below, thanks a million for any help. I'm mostly a Ruger/Smith guy but anxious to see this one perform.

You're going to love the way it shoots.  Mine tend to favor the hotter loads.

Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

Welcome from Colorado!

Yep, looks to be a 15-2 V8. In my experience, the DW 15s compare very favorably with the S&W 19s. I'm sure it'll provide years of enjoyment.

Nice 15-2. How do you like it by now. I'm also new here and also a new 15-2 Monson, Ma. owner. I picked up a 1981 15-2V6 a couple days ago and can't shoot it until I receive the barrel tool to reset the gap. I'm anxious to shoot it but the barrel and cylinder are making contact and leaving marks on cylinder face so I need to wait. The tool should arrive soon. Good luck with yours!

I've read everything I could find online about the DW revolvers in the last ten days since considering my 15-2 purchase. I knew little about DWs except they were well thought of by many folks. After researching prices, I was surprised they sold relatively cheaply compared to Smiths yet the pistol packs were sky high. It seems a $350-500 model 15-2 is worth more parted out than in one piece.  The blue on my model 15-2 appears to have been done after polishing the gun first. My blued GP100 pales in comparison.
