Most non-factory nickle jobs I've seen usually don't leave the trigger, hammer & front sight black, they usually end up plating one or more of these. Factory nickle guns always had these items left black, as yours is. Sooo, in my opinion, it's very probable that a previous owner ordered factory nickle model 15 BA's to clean up the looks of the gun to his taste, most likely to get away from the "ugly nut" look.

I assume the label on your box states that it's a nickle model 12? If so, that would confirm that it's a factory nickle frame. If the label states a blued gun, then it's a tastefully done non-factory job. Either way, those BA/s are not original to the frame, IMO.
