I expect to receive my new Hogue wood grips for my DW 357 in a couple of days. I do not yet have the small frame tool that I ordered from EWK (just ordered yesterday; not a slam on EWK). Is it OK to use an ordinary allen wrench to remove and replace the old grip? I know its a noob question but...

You won't need it for the Hogue as that grip uses a regular slot-head screw a tad smaller than the original head. You will need a flat blade screwdriver that will reach inside the hole to get to it though.
Don't ask me how I know! Oops.

OK, well the present Pachmyre grip is held by an allen screw. I had imagined that the same screw would serve to attach the Hogue grip. We shall see. Pics to follow.
Thanks to everyone for responding.

Don't panic, the Hogue comes with the right screw, it just the driver you need & those interchangeable bit types are to big to fit in the recess.
It is an awesome grip BTW I really like mine.

Did you ream out the hole? I tried using the original, but the head is almost double the size of the hole & I didn't want to mess up the depth or angle.
I'd prefer to use the original, but I'm not completely confidant I won't mess up the new grip when making the change. Any tips for is slotted types?

Depending on when your grip was made determines the screw type and hole size. If your grip has the smaller hole, I suggest going to the hardware store and getting an allen screw that is long enough--the grind down the head to the smaller diameter to fit the hole.
I think most of the smaller hole grips came with slotted screws.
