Please forgive me, it's been six years since I've visited this forum! It's been that long since any DW has piqued my interest also. I am not familiar with Dan Wesson revolvers stamped with NYI Norwich, NY. I have opportunity at an early first issue but wondering if their value is equal or less than a Monson or Palmer made revolver? Is the quality any different? Thank you! Joe
When Bob Serva bought Dan Wesson and moved the company from Palmer, Mass. to Norwich, NY he found the equipment worn out. He bought new CNC machines and started with the "First Edition" guns. In my opinion, the First Edition small frame guns are the finest DWs made. The large frame and Supermags are also very nice. They all seem to bring a higher sales price than earlier guns. The Revolvers after the First Edition are not quite as impressive. The frame pins on the right side of small frame First Edition guns are polished flush with the frame. It makes a more elegant gun.

I love some First Issue Dan Wesson norwich guns! I have two First issues a 744 magnum & a 7445 supermag. Also have a 2018 50th Anniversary pistol pac from Norwich and finally a Norwich Deer Hunter commemorative. all hail Norwich! I'm torn between leaving the stock Hogue rubber grips on their guns that's the way they came from Norwich. I wish the earlier years had the DW logo on the grip like the later pistol pacs had. Norwich used all new CNC machines to produce the Norwich guns so I believe they were the best made of all Dan Wessons. I wish I had a first issue pac like some of the lucky members here!
