So, I broke the gasket that was on my frame stub under the grip on my Monson 715. I didn't see one of these on schematics. Any ideas? Thanks!

PS, been a while since I've posted here. Guess who's 715 beat the local range's $100 dollar bullseye shot? 🙂

Edit: Stainless 15-2 maybe?

Glad you're Back around.  I can't picture in my mind what part you would be talking about.  Please post a picture or two so we can help out.

It was just a small gasket/o-ring that was as high up on the frame stub as it could go under the grip. I'm thinking it was put there to keep the grip screw from being over tightened and effecting the action.

OK, that's not an OEM part....Here's a little info on grip screws.

Maybe something added by a previous owner to reduce over tightening of the grip screw?

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Thats what I posted above. I figured it was the case after I looked up schematics.  Just to figure out what year it is. Stainless 15-2 (I'm guessing??) with a S/0018** serial.

That looks like a PO had done some red neck gunsmithing on the grip.  Is the hole in the grip square or round?  I'm wondering if someone tried to make an 'adapter' to fit a large frame grip on a small frame?
