I just placed an order for a 4" compensated assembley for my stainless 744. DW doesn't have parts on the shelf right now, but it seems they're more than happy to make something for you. The new contact person for ordering parts is Shelly Weston.

Shelly Weston

Dan Wesson Firearms

Customer Service

(607)-336-1174, Ext. 20

 shelly@cz-usa.com

Shelly told me that my order will take six to eight weeks to complete and that my card will be charged when the assembly ships out.

I'm sure there are plenty of you that know this already, but I thought I'd share this for the folks that aren't in the know.

It's great to know that DW in Norwich is back in the game.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Saw SMKYTXN's info and immediatly called Shelly to order two cylinder stops. One is a spare. She is very nice. We are very lucky that DW/CZ still makes parts, shrouds and repairs for our special revolvers.

I'm glad I can contribute fellas. Now, if someone would call and see if there is a catalog of parts available and post it here that would be great.

Earlier this summer I commissioned a custom barrel shroud for my model 40. I wanted an extra shroud to mount a scope on. I went thru Genny, a pleasant person to work with also. I will tell you I could not be happier with the shroud, the machining and craftmanship is all top notch. Bluing is beautiful. For me it is quite a thrill to own such a superbly crafted piece that I actually ordered directly from the factory.

Here are a couple quick pics. Any flaws that show up on the shroud are just smudges or dust. Finish work is outstanding-

Now you've got me thinking custom orders, thanks a lot! My pocketbook hates you lonwolf. :)

And on that note, I received my tracking number for my compensated assembly today. I was told it would take four to six weeks to have it ready, but here we are three days later and I have a tracking number and a charge on the credit card for the right amount. I guess they had one laying on the shelf somewhere. surprised

Wonder if the old "2009 Price list" is still valid.

If it's any indication, the cost for my 744 shroud matches up with the price list you posted. :)

Well, my bbl assembly showed up today. The listed price in the 2009 price sheet is $357 for the BA 744 VH4C, and that's what I paid. :) The shipping and handling was only $9.

Thanks Jody. From what I've heard Ginny is still there, she's just moved out of the customer service role.

Here's the new BA all mounted up and ready for the range.
