Does any know where to get a 9 lb. mainspring for a small frame DW. I have tried every thing to cure light primer strikes including all new springs, new firing pin, 4 different length grip screws with two different grips, cci primers winnie primers federal primers tula primers wolfe primers. I love this pistol as it is the most accurate one I have ever owned but if it won't hit on all six it is going in the trash. No I will not sell a pistol that does not work.

Are you sure you don't have a timing issue? Apply a very small amount of friction to the cylinder with a finger and slowly stroke the tigger back. The bolt should lock the cylinder just before the hammer falls. You may have to try several times to catch it. If the hammer is falling before the cylinder is locked in place, the primer will be struck off center, or not at all. I had to send a 715-2 back to DW for a tune up. They fitted a new hand and installed a headspace shim on the cylinder and new springs. I tried to fit a new hand myself but wasn't able to get it quite right. The gun was fine when I got it back. One of these days I'll figure out how to get the hand fitted properly. That's the one thing I haven't been able to do so far. Good luck with your Dan.

I had the same problem with my 715. It was clearly well used, with scope mount, when I got it. I tried everything anyone has ever mentioned on the forum, including new springs, detent ball adjust, etc. I did notice that the hand had worn a significant rub spot on the extractor at every point where the hand pushes the cylinder around for lockup. Never seen this on another revolver.
Mine is now at DW and I'm waiting to hear what needs to be done.
